The Biden Campaign launched a new initiative today that will ask celebrities to chat Instagram directly with Democrat candidates, according to a report.

This initiative, called #TeamJoeTalks, will utilize celebrity Instagram followers to help find and engage with potential voters when the country is still partially locked.

“They all have hearings that we are using. People are still at home, living on their phones, “Adrienne Elrod, who joined Team Biden in June to manage high-profile outreach initiatives, to Axios about the effort.

The first event as part of the campaign will take place Monday with actor Misha Collins, whose Instagram has more than 4.2 million followers.

Collins will interview Biden’s senior adviser, Karine Jean-Pierre, who was confirmed in a tweet promoting the event on Monday.

“Monday @ 3:30 PM ET, I will LIVE on Instagram with a senior campaign advisor @ JoeBiden @K_JeanPierre to peek at America’s future. (We will also acknowledge our strange COVID hobby.),” he wrote on social media platforms, where he has 2.8 million followers.

Actors Bradley Whitford and Debra Messing, as well as celebrity chef Tom Colicchio and former presidential candidate Andrew Yang are all reportedly scheduled to host the event in the near future.

Whitford will chat with former Georgian governor candidate Stacey Abrams about the right to vote.

The goal of Team Biden, according to Axios, is to hold one Instagram Live event per day, for the rest of the month and so on.

The program will remain short, with planned conversations as short as 20 minutes. Both the campaign and celebrities will promote the previous event too.

Since the coronavirus pandemic forced Americans to their homes in March, the Democratic presidential candidate has campaigned virtually from home, where he appeared for interviews on news programs, late-night talk shows, and virtual campaign events through home studios.

In a statement to Axios, the campaign said of the effort, “We are expanding our reach, utilizing our support network and increasing support for the Vice President’s message.”
