Repsol has awarded the Italians Tecnimont a € 430 million contract for the expansion of an industrial complex in Sines.

The Italian company will be responsible for the construction of two polymer plants in the Repsol complex, the parent company of the Italian company Maire Tecnimont said today.

The contract includes engineering services, supply of materials and equipment, as well as construction and installation work. The project is due to be completed in 2025, and the capacity of the two new plants will produce 300 thousand tons of polymers per year.

The company announced the expansion of the Repsol industrial complex in Sines on 8 July with an investment of 657 million euros that “will expand the range of differentiated products and make the Sines complex one of the most advanced in Europe with its capabilities. flexibility, high degree of integration and competitiveness ”.

“Thanks to these investments, which AICEP has been accompanying from the very beginning, the Repsol Group has become one of the largest national investors. The expansion of the Sines industrial complex is the largest investment in Portuguese industry in the last 10 years. This will allow, after its completion, to directly improve Portugal’s trade balance, ”Repsola said in a statement.
