Intel and Samsung have tested the speed of the new PM1743 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive connected to the PCIe 5.0 interface on the PlayStation 5. The result was very impressive due to the processing speed achieved in the demo.
According to companies, the new component was able to run more than twice as fast as the already standard PS5 storage.which guarantees instant loading in some games such as Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

The PCIe 5.0 interface that connected the SSD and console board was cited as the main reason for the high performance gains. The new pattern has appeared recently and should appear more often in the future.
The Adata brand said it managed to achieve 14 GB / s read and 12 GB / s write on two prototypes., both in NVMe in M.2 format. Samsung has already promised 13GB / s for random reads, and that result was achieved in a test conducted by Intel.
It is worth noting that at the moment this technology is still very limited, used for corporate clients and not even available for regular sale. And yet, when it does, the price should be hefty.
