FAtima Lopez has accepted Rita Ferro Alvim’s invitation to take part in the N’A Caravana podcast. Ready to embark on a long journey through her life story, the TV presenter opened her heart and made great revelations.

The former TVI presenter recalls a time of tremendous change she went through at the age of eight, when she and her parents left to live in Mozambique.

Fatima, who was “too little girl” before, accepted the “slap in the face” with a change. The communicator admits that she experienced “very difficult moments of integration” in a country different from the one in which she was born and with the same culture that is new to her.

Fatima admits that she suffered from “racism because she was white” at school because she moved in 1997, after Mozambique gained independence and when the vast majority of Portuguese had already left the country.

At school I was left out because I was the only white person. The children did not accept me“, – he recalls, explaining that the situation improved only after his mother spoke with her teacher.

However, the bullying continued and became even more serious.

There was a time when I was bullied by a group of girls, also from school, again because I was white. They kept waiting for me when I finished school, and my mother had to pick me up for a while, because one day they caught themselves alone and beat me badly.“- he assures, realizing that the situation eventually calmed down naturally.

Despite the hardest moments she went through, Fatima Lopez has no doubt that her journey through Africa and all the situations she went through helped her become the unprepared and supportive person she is today.
