The Portuguese manager joined Tottenham in the middle of the year and decided to stay there despite interest from other big clubs.

The stay at Chelsea did not go smoothly for André Villas-Boas, who shortly thereafter took on a new challenge in London in the service of Tottenham. The Portuguese coach recalled the transition from one season to another, recalling the interest of other clubs, already powerful at the time.

“In the second season I stayed because of the love of football, there was an offer from PSG on the table. Daniel Levy [presidente dos spurs] wanted to sell me for 15 million pounds, but PSG did not want to pay this amount. There were a lot of things that were wrong on PSG’s part, especially the approach and I decided to stay because of my love for Tottenham. But I think they were waiting for me to leave and that was the start of a bad relationship at the time. However, we started well in terms of sports. At that time, we were unhappy with each other: I stayed because of the love of the club, and Tottenham wanted me to leave, ”he explained in an interview with the Telegraph.

Villas-Boas also recalled what he intended to do after Marseille, with the next World Cup ahead.

“When I left Marseille, my idea was to take a team and be in Qatar. There was a team approach, but we did not come to an agreement,” he fired.
