Huawei strengthens its stake in the Portuguese business market

The intensification of the digital revolution in registered companies over the past 18 months, along with the need to adapt to the context of the pandemic, has meant business benefits, but also new challenges. Recognizing this reality, Huawei held its IT Day at the end of September, an event in which it sought to move forward with solutions specifically designed for the business market. “We want to be a strong and reliable partner for companies and organizations in the public sector in their digital transformation processes,” explains Diogo Madeira da Silva, responsible for communications at a multinational company in Portugal.

During the annual presentation of new products and the latest technology trends, the potential of the OceanProtect data storage and backup service was presented. At a time when the value of data is often impossible to calculate, dealing with the growing volume of diverse information is not an easy task. Keeping them safe is even more difficult given that cyber attacks in Portugal increased by 79% during 2020, according to the National Cyber Security Center’s annual report.

Thus, the Chinese technology solution goes two ways – a centralized backup center or an all-in-one backup. According to Huawei, this offering can provide smart coverage in all scenarios without data loss or service interruption. This is just one of the company’s Enterprise Business Group activities, an area that Michael Chen considers a priority and which can be combined by organizations, public and private, using the resources of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR). ) that are heavily betting on digital transformation. “We strive to be reliable support for clients in Portugal, especially in a context in which organizations seek to maximize opportunities arising from, for example, PRR,” explains the responsible.

However, this digital revolution is taking place in several directions. The need for collaboration within companies, both internal and external, implies new ways of communication that are becoming faster, more efficient and flexible. Thus, IdeaHub was one of the stars at IT Day – this is a new equipment that combines several functions and can be used as a projector, interactive whiteboard, computer and conference screen. The design that the brand has taught its customers from a consumer technology perspective has been taken to the business sector with a product that allows virtual meetings in 4K through 12 built-in microphones with audio capture within an eight-meter radius. …

They are, as they say, technologies, products and solutions that enable companies to focus on one of the most important tasks for which they are responsible – innovation and growth. For more than a decade, Huawei, known for its mobile phones, computers and tablets for the consumer market, has been banking on expanding its corporate business group in Portugal, which Michael Chen says has “huge growth potential.” Internationally, this business segment has more than 30,000 partners and covers about half of the Fortune Global 500 companies. “It’s time to focus more on one of the areas we believe has the greatest growth potential in our country. “. – says Diogo Madeira da Silva.

Maestro de Braga is the first Portuguese in the National Symphony Orchestra of Cuba.

Maestro Filipe Cunha, Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Braga, has been invited to conduct the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra, as announced today.

According to a statement sent by O MINHO, “he will be the first Portuguese conductor to conduct this orchestra in its entire history.”

In addition to this orchestra, the maestro will also work with the Lyceo Mozarteum de la Habana Symphony Orchestra.

The concerts will take place on 4 and 12 March 2023 at the National Theater of Cuba in Havana.

In the words of the maestro, quoted in the statement, “these will be very beautiful concerts with difficult but very complex pieces” and therefore he feels “very motivated”.

From the very beginning, Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by an Italian pianist (Luigi Borzillo), whom the maestro wants to bring to Portugal later this year. In the same concert, Mendelshon’s First Symphony will be performed.

Then, at the second concert, in the company of the Mexican clarinetist Angel Zedillo, he will perform the Louis Sfora Concerto No. 2. In this concert, the maestro also conducts Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.

“This is an international recognition of my work. An invitation that I accept with humility and great responsibility. I was surprised to learn that I would be the first Portuguese member of the Cuban National Symphony Orchestra. This is a very great honor,” the maestro said in a statement.

“I take with me the name of the city of Braga and Portugal with all the responsibility that goes with it, and I hope to do a good job there, leaving a good image and putting on great concerts. These will be very special concerts because, in addition to performing pieces that I love, especially Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky, I will be directing two wonderful soloists who are also my friends. It will be very beautiful,” concludes Filipe Cunha.
