How to unsubscribe from Twitch

Published

on

Unsubscribing from Twitch is the right decision if you no longer want to promote a channel with a subscription. It is also an alternative to prevent automatic new payments as subscriptions renew every month.

Learn how to unsubscribe from Twitch in the following guide. See also some of the differences between canceling a regular subscription and canceling via Prime.

How to unsubscribe on Twitch

  1. Go to “twitch.tv/subscriptions” and sign in to your account;
  2. Find the channel you want to unsubscribe from on Twitch;
  3. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner;
  4. Go to “Do not renew subscription”;
  5. Select a reason and click Don’t Renew Subscription again.

If you are using the Twitch app on an Android phone or iPhone (iOS):

  1. Open the Twitch app;
  2. Click on your profile picture in the top left corner;
  3. Go to “Subscriptions” and click on the subscription you want to cancel;
  4. Click “Unsubscribe”;
  5. Click Confirm.

And ready. When a subscription is cancelled, look out for the subscribe button on the streamer’s channel. It will now have an end date for the subscription. That is, you will still have access to the benefits of the subscription until the end of the subscription.

What do I lose when I unsubscribe from Twitch?

You are back as a regular Twitch channel viewer and will no longer be able to use Creator Badges or Emoji. In addition, you will see ads during the broadcasts.

Can I cancel my Twitch Prime subscription?

No. Subscriptions made through Twitch Prime, which offers one free subscription per month using the Perk Bundle Amazon Prime, can’t be cancelled. Unlike traditional subscriptions, Prime doesn’t auto-renew, so you’ll have to manually complete this process every month you want to subscribe to a channel.
