How Eugenie Bouchard is fighting online haters

Eugenie Bouchard might have 2.1 million Instagram followers – and that’s not always a good thing.

“There are lots of positives out there,” the Canadian tennis star recently said said CNN. “And I realize that everyone has a hater.”

The 26-year-old tennis player, who has been a social media sensation for years, has learned to fight noise, noting it as a “waste of time” focusing on negative comments.

“Try to think of it as an inverted compliment and realize that it is someone who might have a problem of his own or is evil or negative and you don’t need to worry about someone like that,” Bouchard said. “You don’t need to worry about their opinions, so I really try to take a step back from that and not take it personally.”

Bouchard’s form on the pitch has stumbled since 2014 when he was a semifinalist at the Australian and French Open before falling to Petra Kvitova in the Wimbledon final. He is currently ranked No. 332 in the world.

Bouchard had spent time locking coronavirus online, where he was flooded with dating resumes in March after tweeting that quarantining “would be much more fun with a boyfriend.”

“My agent just told me that you guys are sending ‘dating resumes’ to my bio email WILL NEED TO STOP,” he said at the time.

Bouchard recently went on a virtual date with comedian Bob Menery, who donates money to charity in exchange for quality time, according to CNN.

Last week, the All-In Challenge Bouchard closed at $ 85,000, with winners getting the chance to eat with athletes, in addition to going to a tennis tournament with guests.

85R?!?!? You all are amazing !!! I am very grateful and proud of you all for joining me on this project. I can’t wait to meet the winner! ” he posted to Instagram.
