Hong Kong (CNN) – On June 18, Hong Kong Disneyland will become the second Disney park in the world to reopen.

One of Disney’s smallest amusement parks, it was closed on January 26 due to the global virus crisis and has remained closed since, with a few exceptions – namely hotels and several restaurants on site.
Shanghai Disneyland is the first park to reopen, welcoming guests back on May 11. The reopening gave a clue as to what Disney parks around the world would look like post-coronavirus, with social distance regulations imposed and both guests and employees (aka cast members) sporting masks.

And it looks like Hong Kong Disneyland will follow a similar procedure.

Guests will be asked to book a reservation online at least one week in advance to maintain crowd control. Upon arrival, they must submit a temperature check, fill out a health declaration form and wear a face mask.

Magic Access members, who are annual park ticket holders, will get priority for booking bookings.

“We are proud to be part of the Hong Kong community, who have worked hard and showed courage in dealing with a pandemic,” Stephanie Young, managing director of the park, said in a statement.

Another major component of the Disney experience, character interaction, has changed for the coronavirus era. For now, guests will not be able to have close experiences such as photo operations with Mickey, Minnie and friends but will be able to enjoy socially remote activities such as parades and shows.

Since the virus was first identified in January, Hong Kong has quickly adopted social hygiene measures. At present, the city only records 1,110 cases and only four deaths.

While waiting for the crowd to return, Hong Kong Disneyland continues its newest attraction, Castle of Magical Dreams. Although it is not finished yet, visitors will be able to see the castle’s progress as they enter the final stages of construction.

Hong Kong Disneyland also works hard for new ones “Frozen” section, with themed areas around Elsa, Anna, Olaf and other characters from the current record holder for the best-selling animated film ever.

Outside of greater China, Disney fans still have to wait to improve their theme parks. Disney parks in California, Florida, Japan and France are currently closed.
