Wii Sport was the launch name for the Wii in 2006. The game accompanied the purchase of the console, and together they achieved sales success as they attracted a new causal audience previously distant from video games.

Wii Sports Resort came a few years later in 2009 and continued that success with more action and the use of more precise motion controls with Wii Motion Plus.

The Wii Sports Club followed in 2013, but was a lesser-known addition to the WiiU library.
