Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut is Official and Includes Iki Island

Sucker Punch confirmed that Ghost of Tsushima will even receive an expansion and a Director’s Cut version in August.

IN post posted on PlayStation Blog and in a communique sent by VideoGamer Portugal, it was announced that Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut will have all the content posted to work to date, but will also include the new Iki Island expansion.

More details are expected soon, but for now, we learn that Jin will travel to this new island to investigate rumors of a Mongol presence.

In terms of content, there will naturally be new scenarios to explore, new equipment for Jin and his horse, new techniques, new types of enemies, and even new animals to pet. New trophies will also be unlocked.

On PlayStation 5, Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut will have special functionality. Video scenes will now offer lip sync with Japanese folding, as well as faster load times, 4K resolution options and frame frequency with 60 frames per second as target.

And Sucker Punch hasn’t forgotten about DualSense, offering tactile feedback and adaptive accessory triggers. Players will be able to download files as the PlayStation 4 version rolls over to the PlayStation 5.

Players who purchase the PlayStation 4 version of Ghost of Tsushima will be eligible for a free update the same day the expansion hits the market. This update will include improvements to Photo Mode, reset command mapping, and other accessibility options.

Finally, the multiplayer offering of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends hasn’t been forgotten either, with a brand new free game mode. Details of this new regime will be revealed “in the coming weeks.”

On the cost side, anyone who already owns Ghost of Tsushima on PlayStation 4 can upgrade to the Director’s Cut version for a $ 19.99 fee. If they buy Director’s Cut for PS4, they’ll have to pay $ 9.99 to upgrade to the PS5 version. They can go directly from the base version on PS4 to Director’s Cut on PS5 for $ 29.99.
