Gasoline at gas stations is more expensive by 3.7 cents relative to its “effective price”. Diesel is 3.1 cents cheaper, according to ERSE

ERSE (Energy Services Regulatory Authority) released the “Weekly Price Surveillance Report on Sales of Simple 95 Gasoline and Simple Diesel to the Population” on Tuesday with data for the week of August 12 to September 18, 2022.

The values ​​set for the analyzed week are: 1725 euro/l for regular gasoline 95 and 1930 euro/l for regular diesel fuel.

ERSE reports that “relative to the previous week, it was found that the average public sale price announced on the portals and published in Balcão Único da Energia was 3.7 cents/l higher than the effective price of that week in the case of gasoline 95 and by 3.1 cents/L lower for regular diesel fuel. In percentage terms, plain 95 gasoline was listed on gantry platforms 2.1% above the effective price, and plain diesel fuel was listed 1.6% below the effective price.”

The tax on petroleum products (ISP) for the month of September, published in Decree No. 164-A / 2022 of June 24, is valid and amounts to 0.31606 euros / l and 0.16280 euros / l for gasoline 95 and diesel fuel. respectively. The ISP applicable to regular 95 petrol and regular diesel is unchanged from last week’s value.

Decree No. 217-B/2022 of August 31 remains in effect until October 2 without prejudice to a new estimate over the next month depending on price developments, and also highlights that subsequent updates from the ISP represent a decrease of 21.1 cents per liter of gasoline and 18 cents per liter of diesel fuel.

During the week of September 12-18, the effective pre-tax price is €0.945/L for 95 regular gasoline and €1236/L for diesel fuel. After taxes, the effective price is 1725 euro/l and 1930 euro/l for plain petrol 95 and plain diesel, respectively.

The effective price is the average weekly price determined by the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) and determined by the sum of the following components: fuel prices in international reference markets and related maritime transport, primary logistics, including in this part reserves the strategic and security aspects of the National Petroleum System , additional costs associated with the inclusion of biofuel and retail component, plus applicable taxes.

The effective price registered an update compared to the previous week by -0.9% for gasoline and +0.1% for diesel fuel, taking into account the weekly change in world prices for 95 ordinary gasoline by -2.0% and for diesel fuel by +0.1%. .

As for discount prices, i.e. at gas stations of supermarkets and hypermarkets, published by the General Directorate of Energy and Geology (DGEG), plain 95 gasoline showed a deviation from the Effective price of -1.6%, and plain diesel fuel – 5.7 %. In absolute terms, these estimates for regular gasoline 95 are 2.8 cents/l and for regular diesel fuel 10.5 cents/l are lower than the corresponding effective prices.
