Throughout the week, you’ll be able to attend a series of conferences, including a live stream of Jeff Kayley from The Game Awards, indie game demo, Xbox demo and Destiny 2 demo, so video game fans can be excited about what the future holds for the industry.
While this gamescom is more crowded than last year’s event, it’s still more low-key than the gamescom we’ve known over the years – thankfully, like E3, the 2021 conferences were squeezed into one week rather than a list of seemingly endless broadcasts during the summer. Ufa!

Gamescom 2021 – General Programming
If you want to watch the biggest events at the event, make sure you are free on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, where all the big broadcasts will take place. While gamescom offers additional coding throughout the week, no details are available at the time of this writing.

Kicking off a week of gamescom streaming unofficially, we’ll have a Bungie Show that will reveal the future of Destiny 2.
The main focus is on introducing the game’s upcoming expansion, The Witch Queen, which has been pushed back from Destiny’s usual end-of-year period to early 2022.
Bungie then has to tell us what we’ll be up to before the expansion launches, including the disclosure and immediate release of a new season, Season of the Lost, which will almost certainly kick off the events of The Witch Queen. Release date for o Destiny 2 cross-platform play is one of the most anticipated characteristics of the quality of life of players.
Finally, you will know that there is a pre-presentation that starts an hour earlier – details of what it contains are yet to be confirmed, but you will know that the main presentations will start at the above time.
Xbox gamescom 2021 – tuesday 24 august

Organized by Parris Lilly and Keith Yeager, the Xbox will also be showcasing at gamescom at a special event featuring “in-depth updates” to previously announced Xbox Game Studios games. we imagine that Forza horizon 5 will be one such game, and we hope the release date for Halo: Infinite will be announced. We also know that we will receive updates about Xbox Game Pass and what to count on for now.
In short, don’t expect the “revolutionary” show we put on at E3 – just details on some of the games already announced.
In addition, Bethesda Germany will broadcast on Twitch Thursday, 26 August. There won’t likely be any revelations, but it’s possible that new unreleased gameplay footage will be released, perfect to keep us busy until the weekend.
The main attraction of virtual gamescom this year will be over 30 games streamed over two hours. “Full of news, revelations, gameplay and more”, according to host Jeff Keighley.
Already confirmed that we have a new character for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania (so far we’ve had episodes from Sonic and Tails, Jet Set Radio and Yakuza), news on Genshin Impact and King of Fighters XV, Next Generation Call “Duty: Vanguard” gameplay, new Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga and beat-up footage Teenage mutant ninja turtles from dotemu, take a look at Devolver’s Massive Monsters and possibly Saint’s Row opening.
There is also a 30-minute pre-show with “eight additional world premieres”. We’ve included it in the schedules above so you can maximize your share of world premieres – otherwise you can tune in to the main show at 19:00 (Lisbon time) or 15:00 (Brasilia time).
Gamescom Awesome Indies – Thursday 26th August

This showcase, created in collaboration with IGN, is not displayed at Koelnmesse showrooms in Cologne, but at Venice Beach in Los Angeles. This means we will have a “beach day full of exclusive trailers, fun and games – a unique scene that only Venice Beach residents can provide.”
To give you an idea of what to expect, last year we got the first full reveal of Wonder Boy – Ashu in Monster World. Below is an official summary of what happened during last year’s event:
Hosted by Aaron Laplante, interpreter at Duke’s Resident Evil Village, and Maggie Robertson, Lady Dimitrescu at RE Village, the Future Games Show returns to gamescom for an evening of “gameplay videos, walkthroughs with producers and world premieres.”
More than 40 games and “some special guests” were also identified. To get an idea of what will happen, there was news at the E3 Future Games Show event about Jurassic World Evolution 2, Dying Light 2 Stay Human and OllieOllie’s world. In addition, there will be another virtual showroom for you to explore, where streaming demos can be played on Steam.
What about other gamescom publishers’ plans for 2021?
For the fourth year in a row, don’t count on the launch of the PlayStation, a publisher that has actively supported gamescom in previous generations. Like last year, she may be attending the opening of the evening show, but you’d better keep your expectations in check.
As for Nintendo, while it began to focus more on gamescom in the years leading up to the pandemic, it seems to be more interested in creating its own programming this time of year – creating Indie World broadcasts in the weeks leading up to gamescom in 2020 and 2021.
Dying Light 2
