Galaxy S22: Samsung wants more Snapdragon and less Exynos !?

Not so long ago, we will start learning more information about the new generation of Samsung Galaxy S smartphones called S22.

After all, if all goes well, the announcement will take place in January and stocks will hit shelves by the end of this month.

However, it looks like Samsung is about to change its strategy a bit, which is most likely due to its manufacturing difficulties, namely the 5nm lines. At the end of the day, it looks like we’ll be betting heavily on Qualcomm chips (Snapdragon 898) rather than Exynos’ own processors.

Something a little odd considering the Galaxy S22 line of smartphones should be the first to feature the top-of-the-line Exynos 2200 SoC.

Galaxy S22: Samsung will rely more on Snapdragon and less on Exynos

Therefore, as is usually the case in the world of high-end Samsung Galaxy smartphones, just like in the Galaxy S line, smartphones are always divided into devices equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs and devices equipped with Samsung Exynos SoCs.

However, this time the combination should be Snapdragon 898 and Exynos 2200. The latter is already equipped with the long-awaited AMD Radeon RDNA 2 graphics processor. However, according to new information, it looks like the Exynos version in the next generation will become a little less common.

In the end, it looks like there will be an Exynos version in the European market, negotiations are still underway in the American market and Verizon is trying to get hold of the same version, while other mobile network providers should stick to Qualcomm’s version. This while South Korea, China, Hong Kong, India and most of Asia will have the Snapdragon version.

In short, for us in Europe, little or nothing will change as we usually always get the Exynos version. And in fact, in 2022, I prefer it to be, because the new SoC, created in partnership with AMD, looks really interesting.

However, this could have another disastrous effect that has impacted the worldwide availability of Samsung mobile phones … The crisis in the production of microcircuits. After all, as I said above, Samsung’s 5nm lineup is really going through a tough time.

But let’s wait and see.
