Fuel will fall in price from this Monday following the fall of a barrel of oil. The price of diesel fuel will decrease by 6.5 cents per liter to 1928 euros, and gasoline – by 7 cents to 2014 euros per liter.
In the case of gasoline, this is the biggest drop since May 2.
This decline comes at a time when the government has decided to extend the ISP discount for two months, which is equivalent to a VAT rate of 13%.
However, it should be remembered that the evolution of costs depends on each gas station, brand and area in which it is located.
But the truth is that the data is not encouraging. The latest report from Brussels shows that after taxes, the average price of 95 petrol in Portugal is the fifth most expensive in the entire EU.
Diesel already occupies the 10th position among the countries of the Community space. The same data shows that taxation is the biggest factor influencing fuel prices in Portugal.
