“I want to thank the court and all the support I received from everyone. Now this is a new fight for all other women and all kinds of abuse. I do not feel relief, I feel mentally and physically devastated “, Valerie Bako announced this to reporters tonight, leaving the courtroom.

The woman is on probation for the next four years and is prohibited from using firearms. He also has to undergo compulsory psychological counseling, but he will never return to prison.

The prosecution demanded a five-year prison sentence, including four years probation, which means Valerie Bakot could be released from trial after admitting that the woman was a “victim.”

On March 13, 2016, Valerie Bakot shot Daniel Paulette in the back of the head, ending more than 24 years of violence and abuse. Her husband, who started out as her stepfather, her mother’s companion, began to bully her when she was 12 years old, forcing her into prostitution.

A man who was 25 years older than Bako married her and they had four children.

The crime happened when Valerie Bakot overheard a conversation between her husband and their 14-year-old daughter in which he asked her questions about her sexuality.

The fear that he would engage in prostitution, like her, led to the fact that she killed him, confessed Valerie Bakot, who was sentenced to life in prison.
