This Thursday, December 23rd, the French company Icade Santé bought the entire SaudeInveste fund, owned by Fidelidade, for 213 million euros. The portfolio includes four private hospitals, three owned by the Lusíadas group and the other by HPA Saúde. Icade said this is the first investment in Portugal in a statement.

The three facilities that house the hospital departments of the Lusíadas Group are located in Lisbon, Porto and Albufeira, while the other is the Privado S. Gonçalo Hospital in Lagos, owned by the HPA Saúde Group.

The French group said in a statement that the four hospitals have a total area of 90,000 square meters and have more than 500 beds.

The leases for these assets will last an average of eight years, which, according to Icade, “generates immediate cash flow.”

The Lusíadas Group, a subsidiary of the UnitedHealth Group, has 12 branches in Portugal, including, in addition to the above, a hospital in Braga and a hospital in Cascais in the form of a public-private partnership (PPP).

HPA Saúde Group operates six private hospitals in the Algarve, Alentejo and Madeira.

Icade Santé has invested around 880 million euros this year, well above the group’s targets of between 450 and 500 million euros.

The group’s plan envisages investments of three billion euros until 2025, with about 30% already invested.
