According to the news agency France-Presse, this morning the rescue teams with dogs continued to search for the missing.

Local civil security officials have confirmed the deaths of four people on Twitter, following initial reports of two dead and seven missing.

“The gas has probably accumulated in the cavity. This gas cylinder could accidentally hit the trigger: a car, an elevator, an electrical appliance, ”commented the fire chief of Agrigento Giuseppe Merendino. Reynews24

Shortly after the blast, Ravanusa Mayor Carmello D’Angelo made a Facebook request to “everyone with shovels and bulldozers,” asking for help. “This is a disaster,” said Carmello D’Angelo.
