Fesmepar discusses trade union perspectives and current Brazilian political and economic scenario at UGT – Oeste meeting | News

Fesmepar Financial Director Sonia Marchi, accompanied by Fesmepar Director and SISMUCAF (Cafelândia) President Leonel Lupatini, took part last Friday (3/6) in a meeting with trade union leaders from the western region of Parana to discuss the prospects for the trade union movement and the current political and economic scenario.

The meeting took place at the Headquarters of the Union of Gas Station Workers in Cascavel and Region (Sindepospetro) and was attended by licensed UGT President – Parana Paulo Rossi, President of Syndepospetro and President of UGT-Parana Western Regional Branch. Antonio Vieira Martins, from the general secretary of the Western regional branch of UGT-Paraná Maria Benwinda de Almeida, as well as representatives of trade unions and public associations of the western region that are part of UGT-Paraná.

Fesmepar’s financial director, who is also the women’s secretary at UGT Paraná, stressed the importance of trade unions and the elections that will take place in October. “We need to vote and elect representatives who fight for workers who know intimately the daily lives of Brazilian workers. Our representatives should be those who have a work plan that prioritizes the working class, so we need to come together thinking about our struggle,” said Sonia Marchi.

During the meeting, the President of SINTESPAR, Adir Souza, gave a lecture on “Health and Safety of Workers: The Need for Prevention”.

After the lecture, administrative issues in Ugt-Oest were discussed.
