Farewell, Exynos: the mountain gave birth to a mouse!

In truth, the mobile world was just crazy about the fact that Samsung is allegedly developing in partnership with AMD. After all, it is in 2022 with the Galaxy S22 line of devices that we will finally see a very powerful SoC equipped with an RDNA2 GPU.

Unfortunately, things didn’t go well, largely due to Samsung’s own production issues, and AMD’s in adapting its own technology to a completely different environment.

However, many enthusiasts like me expected more. Exynos 2200 should be the first attempt at a successful partnership! But no. Samsung has decided to change everything to ensure a better future for its ecosystem.

Farewell, Exynos: the mountain gave birth to a mouse!

Therefore, it seems that the Exynos project will undergo a revolution! Which is likely to take some time, and for that reason a pause of sorts needs to be introduced. That is, Samsung wants to change the course of things, following the same path as Apple. Now the idea is to develop and then produce a special chipset, really different from anything already on the market, for their high performance devices.

A project that will apparently force Samsung to abandon all Exynos projects for 2023 and 2024. This is in order to 100% focus on this new processor.

In short, this means that at least the next two generations of Galaxy S phones and, most likely, Galaxy Z will be based solely on Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.

Interestingly, this comes at a time when Apple has started to refine its launch strategy!

Indeed, in 2022, the iPhone 14, which, in turn, should be divided into 4 different versions, will not be based on only one SoC. After all, in case you didn’t know, Apple is considering taking advantage of last year’s A15 Bionic SoC to bring non-pro iPhone 14 models to life. That is, only the Pro models will get the A16 Bionic SoC with all the improvements that can come from that same bet.
