Fans shocked by living conditions in Qatar

There are fans who have barely arrived in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup kicking off today and already have a list of criticisms of living conditions.

In a report published this Sunday by the British TV channel BBC Sport, fans are surprised and outraged by the living conditions in the famous “Fans Village”, “cheap” accommodation that costs 200 euros per night. However, for this not very “cheap” price, guests “contemplate” a reduced room, the conditions of which are not very attractive.

One of the reported cases is the case of Shogo Nakashima. Coming from Japan, the fan decided to stay at the Fan Village on Ketaifan Island, north of Doha, in an area that has yet to be completed. “If I don’t laugh, I might cry (…) I can’t change my location right now, so I have to put up with it and wait for the game in Japan. Maybe I’ll just stay here to sleep. I’m going to go and see the city. I don’t want to stay here,” he snapped.

Having come from Paris to support his country, Jamal was just as unhappy with what he found upon arrival. “Bad experience. No shower gel, no toothbrushes, no toothpaste…,” he said.

These are just two of the many cases multiplied on social media about the living conditions of those who came to Qatar to watch the World Cup.
