Facebook has launched Live Audio Rooms in the United States, a platform associated with an app that promises to compete with Clubhouse, according to news portal Verge.

On Monday, the company announced that some community leaders in the country, as well as certain groups, can start using the platform directly from the Facebook iOS app.

Anyone can be invited with a limit of 50 people speaking at the same time, although the number of listeners is not limited, and it is thanks to this feature that the platform is becoming more widespread in the Clubhouse, which imposes restrictions on the number of people in the chat.

Within groups, administrators can control who is allowed to create a room: moderators, group members, or other administrators. Chats in public groups will be available both inside and outside the group, but chats in private groups will only be available to members of those groups.

In addition, organizers can also choose a non-profit organization to assist during the call, with a feature that allows them to donate directly via chat.

The new platform has another type of new features such as notifications when friends or followers enter a specific room, as well as live subtitles.

Facebook will also make podcasts available on the platform so that users can find programs on the pages of specific podcast creators, as well as on feed news, the ability to respond, comment, tag and share your favorite content.

The features were unveiled just days after Spotify launched their own live audio app, Greenroom, and three months after Stage Channels hit Discord.
