After spending time that feels like forever in quarantine, Nationals infarction player Eric Thames only has one thing to thank for keeping his stability, and that is cornhole.

The backyard beanbag throwing game is the perfect filler for pitcher pitcher exercises where the pitcher covers the first base.

“Cornarantine hours will definitely pay off at PFP!” Thames wrote post on Instagram posts about him who perfectly did the lottery at the Nationals camp. “Only a few weeks until the game time.”

While pro athletes around the world try to stay in shape in unconventional ways amid a pandemic, baseball players are only able to do so much on their own.

Thames will get a chance to show off his honed skills when the World Series Nationals champion opens the MLB 2020 season which is shortened by the night match against the New York Yankees on July 23.

Despite the increasing obstacles and worries that COVID-19 has raised with sport, Thames remains confident and optimistic that American hobbies can succeed.

“We are all ready,” he said. “All players, Americans need to see baseball. We all need it, as players, fans and the world. Definitely need something to watch now. So, we are a little upset. “
