Karl Baxter reduced the price to 11 euros and even explained why people buy an object

The English are specialists in the euphoria of reaching the final stages of major tournaments, and the 2022 World Cup is another example of this. Having made a splash in Russia, “Return Home” is back in trend, but, like four years ago, the dream was postponed even before the finale. The euphoria was such that there were those who ordered thousands of T-shirts to celebrate the title… even before the team reached the final. Such was the case with Carl Baxter, an entrepreneur from the Dorset region, who decided to make 18,000 t-shirts with the print ‘England Cup Winners 2022, Home at Last’. (England, World Cup winners, “You are finally home”, in Portuguese). And now that England has fallen out of sight, the businessman is left with a supply of something that doesn’t make sense in practice. Despite this, Karl Baxter does not stop trying to make a deal, reducing the price from 30 to 10 pounds (11.6 euros) in the hope that someone will consider it a good idea to buy an item to celebrate an achievement that will not happen. And he even decided to try to sell his idea in an interview with the Daily Star. It remains to be seen whether anyone will buy both the shirt and… the excuse.

“I am completely devastated by the elimination at the World Cup. I was impressed with the performance of the team in Qatar and I was confident that we would win the tournament. I would like to ask the English fans to buy one of these jerseys to keep it as a piece of history and a reminder of how well we did in the tournament. Even if they didn’t win, in my eyes they are winners,” he said.

The amount involved in this investment is not mentioned, but the most obvious thing is that this idea will end in huge losses…
