Energy turns PSI-20 red. The navigator withdraws more than 5% in a maximum of 20 months – Stock Exchange

The PSI-20 index finished the last session of October with a decrease of 0.27% to 5,732.03 points. The biggest pressure on the index came from the energy sector companies, in particular the EDP and Galp group. Of the 19 listed, 10 closed higher, eight closed lower, and Ramada closed the session unchanged.

However, October was a positive month for the national stock market, with the PSI-20 gaining 4.97%, the second highest monthly gain this year, following a 7.76% gain seen in August.

The star on the positive this Friday was Navigator, which rose 5.36% to € 3.38, the highest since February 2020, even before the pandemic reached Portugal. This ascent was caused by presented results Pulp and Paper Mill yesterday after the market closed. Continuing in earnings, Novabase and Ibersol rose more than 1%, while Sonae rose 1.06% to 95.15 cents.

Among the listed companies with the highest weights in the index, BCP rose 0.64% to 15.61 cents, while Jerónimo Martins added 0.15% to 19.60 euros, a new high to close.

Energy inhibits the growth of PSI-20
The main index of the Portuguese market is already under pressure from the energy sector, all of them are indicated in red.

Greenwall was hit hardest, shedding 2.85% to € 6.82, while the EDPR fell 2.74% to € 24.10 and the EDP lost 1.23% to close at € 4.884.

Galp also fell 1.03% to € 8.992, while REN fell 0.75% to end the day at € 2.635.

Greenvolt, JM, EDPR and Navigator earn over 10% per month. Galp leads takedowns

On the balance sheet for October, Greenvolt rose 14.43%, followed by Jeronimo Martins (up 13.89%).

EDP ​​Renováveis ​​and Navigator also posted double-digit cumulative earnings, rising 12.51% and 11.33%, respectively.

Overall, 12 of the 19 included in the PSI-20 achieved a positive monthly balance.

On the other hand, the biggest hit was Galp, which fell 8.24% in October. Only Ibersol is close to this indicator, which has accumulated a loss of 8.03%. The waterfall podium ends with Nos, which yield 2.99%.

BCP is another heavyweight with a red balance in October. Shares of the bank, headed by Miguel Maya, fell 0.38% over the month.
