The following Saturday, August 13, Emanuel was preparing to perform in Manteigas, Serra da Estrela, but the concert had to be cancelled. The singer took to social media to explain why.
Through his personal Instagram account, Emanuel shared a statement announcing the cancellation of the concert in Manteigas due to a large fire that broke out in the Serra da Estrela area:
“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the cancellation of my show this Saturday in Manteigas. The fire that does not let go of this land, except that it damages infrastructure, destroys dreams of the struggle of a lifetime, causes tears and pain that last forever…”, started with a letter.
The singer revealed that a new date for the concert will be announced soon:Thus, it is noticeable that there are no reasons and conditions for the show to take place on August 13th. The performance date will be announced soon. I call on everyone to understand this decision between my team and the executive branch of the municipality of Manteigas,” stated.
At the end of the post, Emanuel left a message about the support and strength of the residents at the site of the fire: “My hugs to all the manteigen affected by this fire… Let’s trust the firefighters, our heroes. Everything will be fine soon…” finished.
