The funeral of Queen Elizabeth II is taking place this week in England. But even after the funeral, the monarch will share a message with the people of Sydney. As? There is a letter written by the Queen that will not be read for 63 years.

The text was written in 1986, when the building was being restored in honor of his great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria. In the same year, Elizabeth II made a royal visit to Australia, which lasted 11 days.

What Elizabeth II wrote in this message to the future inhabitants of Siden, no one knows, even her personal team did not read the letter. Envelope signed only as “Elizabeth R“. – the name of the queen – and is stored in a glass capsule in a closed part of the building.

The building of Queen Victoria was built to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee, corresponding to the 50th anniversary of her reign as the British monarch. After being virtually demolished in 1950 to make way for a car park, the building was restored in 1986.
