EFootball: new “PES” destroyed by players and becomes a meme on social networks

The “brand” Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) is dead and eFootball is the name of Konami’s new soccer simulator. But it looks like with the iconic name gone, Konami is poised to end what remains of the game’s reputation.

EFootball 2022 launched this week to compete with FIFA 22, which is available in stores today. But the game is far from convincing. Adds negative reviews on Steam, and became a real meme on social networks.

EFootball 2022 has the worst rating on Steam

If you see the title page in Steam, “rain of criticism” awaits you. Many even describe it as the “worst game” they’ve ever played, referring to “bad gameplay”, “terrible graphics” and endless “bugs.”

To give you an idea, Steam250 has a list of the 100 worst ever on Steam. And eFootball 2022 is represented by the latter with a rating of 0.89 out of 10356 votes (as of the date of writing).

As a reminder, eFootball cooperates with Barcelona: he took a picture of Messi’s face when he was still playing for the Catalan club. But the result has already turned into a real meme, and comparisons with FIFA 22 (which was not scanned) are impressive. The same is with the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo.

Errors in FIFA or PES are nothing new. But this eFootball already has a good collection. In the video posted by the user, Ansu Fachi appears as a character in the anime Naruto.

In another video, we see several players in the stadium. The problem is that when some of the athletes start showing up, we only see one fact levitating, as you can see below.

If you’re interested in giving eFootball a try, you can do it for free (albeit with restrictions). As we covered in another article, there are several new features coming to FIFA 22 Stores today.
