EDP ​​Renováveis ​​and BCP Rise Pushes PSI-20 to Pre-Pandemic Highs – Stock Exchange

The Lisbon Stock Exchange ended the session at a high level, recording 1.26% gain to 5,310.63 points, in line with the performance of the major European markets. In today’s session, the major BCPs and EDP Group listed companies raised the index, pushing PSI-20 up to February 2020 highs before the pandemic hits Portugal.

Of the 18 listed companies that make up the benchmark index of the national stock exchange, 13 ended the day higher, 4 lower and 1 unchanged.

EDP ​​Renováveis ​​was in the lead on Wednesday, rallying 4.13% to € 21.70, peaking on February 11. Parent company EDP also ended the day in positive territory, increasing 2.15% to € 4,649. The heavy BCP also boosted the index with a 3.77% gain to 12.67 cents. Jeronimo Martins finished the day in a maximum of 50 months, gaining 0.17% to € 17.95.

CTT rose 1.69% to € 4.505, while construction company Mota-Engil rose 1.52% to € 1.340.

Oil company Galp was the only one of the five largest companies to close the session in negative territory, falling 1.03% to 8,610 euros.

In a session in which only four listed companies closed in the red, Novabase fell 0.86% to € 4.60, Corticeira Amorim fell 0.35% to € 11.50, and Sonae lost 0.34% to € 88 , 65 cents.

Apart from PSI-20, Greenvolt rose 1.37% to trade at € 4.815, the highest quoted price since its debut on July 15.
