Dutch corona virus: Prime Minister Mark Rutte does not visit dying mothers for weeks to comply with the corona virus locking

Rutte announced on Monday that her mother, 96-year-old Mieke Rutte-Dilling, had died on May 13. He did not die because Covid19.

The PM also paid tribute to him in a statement. “In addition to extraordinary sadness and all the happy memories, my family and I also have a feeling of gratitude that we were allowed to take him with him for so long,” he wrote. “We have now said goodbye to him in the family circle and hope to be able to handle this great loss in peace in the near future.”

Rutte’s announcement came after other political figures faced questions about their behavior under locking.

The latest scandal that occurred in England, after that it was revealed that Dominic Cummings, Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s political aide, had traveled 260 miles across England when people were urged not to leave their homes.

Rutte’s spokesman told CNN on Tuesday that the Dutch Prime Minister “complied with all measures to restrict coronavirus and not visit his mother for more than eight weeks.”

“However, the restrictive steps left room to say goodbye to the family members who were dying during the last phase. The Prime Minister stayed with his mother on his last night.”

The Netherlands imposed restrictions more than two months ago, in mid-March, to prevent the spread of the virus.
On Tuesday, the virus has infected more than 45,000 people in the country and killed more than 5,800, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
The Netherlands is slowly reducing restrictions, with secondary schools, cafes and restaurants scheduled to reopen in June, according to Reuters.
