exposition Diversity alphabetplastic artist Diego Moura, was censored the day after it opened in the third floor corridor of the Plaza Shopping Mall in Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro. The opening took place last Thursday night, 9. The free-to-attend digital pop art show consists of images of LGBTQIAPN+ personalities. Moura believes he was censored after the adviser Douglas Gomez (LP), an MP candidate, recorded a video on the spot and posted it on his social media, stating that it was “absurd” for a mall to “sexualize children”. “About a month ago, I was invited to take my art out into the mall hallway. The idea was to use LGBT Pride Month to bring the gay artist’s work to the general public. The motto of the exhibition was to explain in an educational and primary way the meaning of each letter that makes up the abbreviation LGBTQIAP+. After receiving assurances from the mall that I would be protected from any attack, they simply disappeared with the exposure! Letting know which side they’re on“, – said the artist.
