Portuguese musician and producer Guilherme Ines, a member of Salada de Frutas and Quarteto 1111, passed away on Tuesday in Lisbon at the age of 70.

Guilherme Ines, born in Lisbon in April 1951, began his musical career in the 1960s playing guitar in Sharks and Hooks.

The drum change came when he joined Zoo, with whom he recorded an album in 1969.

In 1970, he unites the Chinchils, led by Phil Mendrix.

In the 1970s and early 1980s, he accompanied, while living in the studio, musicians such as José Cid, José Afonso, Fausto and Vitorino, recording drums on albums such as Pano Cru and Campolide by Sergio Godinho.

The musician and producer also joined bands such as Objective (back in the first half of the 1970s), Salada de Frutas, with Lena D’Agua as vocalist, and Quarteto 1111, a band that José Cid played with. part. and Tose Brito.

In the early 1980s, together with Jose da Ponte, he founded the Namouche studio in Lisbon, where he produced themes and albums for various artists such as Dora or Dulce Pontes.

In addition to being a musician and producer, Guilherme Ines also co-wrote several songs, including Salada de Frutas’s “Se Cá nevasse” and “Não bem para mim”, with which Dora represented Portugal at Eurovision. 1986 competition.

Guilherme Ines is currently preparing a reissue of Salada de Frutas’ album “Se Cá nevasse”, originally published in 1981.
