American singer Demi Lovato said that she does not consider herself binary and will change pronouns. The announcement was made this Wednesday on social media, where a video was posted explaining the reason for this decision.

“I am very happy to share this with you,” he said at the beginning. “I am proud to inform you that I consider myself non-binary and will officially change the pronouns to ‘they / they’.” The singer also explains that these changes began last year and that she “did some work of healing and self-reflection,” and that is how she thought about her gender identity.

“I’m still learning to express myself,” he admits, “and I don’t consider myself an expert or representative.”

Demi Lovato has already declared her bisexuality and cut her hair short to free herself from the “gender and sexual norms” imposed by society. In a documentary about the singer’s life, released in March, Demi talks about her long-standing drug addiction and her journey to free herself, and how she was “left for dead” after being sexually assaulted by a heroin trafficker.

Non-binary people do not identify with the feminine or masculine gender and tend to adopt neutral pronouns such as “ile”, “elu”, “el” and derivatives, and replace the vowels “a / o” at the end of words. as adjectives with “e” (lindolind). Demi Lovato is not the first to make this announcement. Other celebrities such as Sam Smith, Miley Cyrus, Cara Delevingne and Ruby Rose have already publicly stated the same.
