Deloitte is set to open two new technology and digital transformation hubs in Portugal, creating between 1,500 and 2,000 jobs over the next four years, surpassing 6,000 professionals. The stake will expand the national network of offices, and teams from the two centers will be deployed in the cities of Braga, Coimbra, Faro, Leiria and Setubal.
The centers, called the Global Technology Solutions Center of Excellence and the Global Telecom Networks Center of Excellence, represent a strengthening of Portugal’s commitment and are also contributing to the country’s economic growth, according to Antonio Lagartixo, CEO and Managing Partner of Deloitte. The official explains that “the centers of excellence will be primarily focused on providing services around the world, with a particular focus on the European and North American markets,” working “in an integrated manner with other centers in the Deloitte global network”.
The company intends to recruit new highly qualified employees with skills in information technology and telecommunications. Strengthening teams also includes recruiting staff from other areas of expertise who can adapt to the specific needs of the two new centers. This includes professionals with different levels of experience who have completed advanced training and retraining programs.
The company points out that, on the one hand, the Center of Excellence for Global Technology Solutions will combine the expertise of Portuguese professionals with the know-how of other Deloitte regions to provide consulting services in the field of technological innovation, implementation and digital transformation.
On the other hand, the Global Telecom Networks Center of Excellence will focus on the design, implementation and operation of corporate networks that meet the business needs of companies using technologies such as 5G, WiFi 6 or SD-WAN. The center will also have an associated cybersecurity center that will provide services for the implementation and operation of security platforms.
