Cristiano Ronaldo demands Maguire to leave in tense meeting

O british portal Athletic this Wednesday unveils a proposed meeting that took place last February and will feature Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, Paul Pogba and then-Manchester United manager Ralph Rangnick.

While the Red Devils are in a results crunch, some of the most prominent figures in the Red Devils dressing room approached the German at the Carrington Sports Complex to ask him to make some changes to the team.

Then the Portuguese international took the floor and asked the Red Devils coach to put captain Harry Maguire, who was absent, on the bench due to an unfortunate moment he was going through.

The same edition adds that the Madeiran player will ask to change the game system to one that includes a pair of strikers, preferably formed by himself and Edinson Cavani.

Ralph Rangnick then said that he “felt the conversation was inappropriate without Maguire present as captain”. Cristiano Ronaldo stressed that the centre-back “was part of the problem”, causing some of those present to “apologise”.
