Four months after announcing its NFT (non-fungible token) partnership with Binance, Cristiano Ronaldo will launch the first collection of this type of crypto asset, the crypto platform said in a statement. The collection will be available for purchase this Friday.
“The first collection of Cristiano Ronaldo NFTs will become available on Friday, November 18, as part of an exclusive multi-year partnership with Binance,” according to the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange.
The launch is “supported by a global marketing campaign with [Cristiano] Ronaldo intended to introduce fans to the world of Web3 through NFT,” the press release added. “It was important for me to create something memorable and unique for my fans, as they are an integral part of my success,” the Portuguese says, for his part, in the same statement. “With Binance, I was able to make something that not only reflects the passion for the game, but also rewards fans for all the years of support,” he adds.
The collection will include seven images from the Portuguese star’s story “from his childhood moments in Portugal” to “his bike kicks”. The collection will have seven levels of rarity: “Hyper Rare”, “Super Rare”, “Rare” and “Normal”.
The 45 most valuable NFTs in the “Ultra Rare” and “Ultra Rare” categories will be sold through a 24-hour auction. For “ultra-rare” NFTs, trading prices will start at $10,000 Binance (about €9,600 compared to the current price of the cryptocurrency) and $1,700 Binance (€1,632).
The remaining 6,000 NFTs (“rare” and “common”) will be sold on another auction with a starting price of $77 Binance (€73.92).
In addition to the NFT, the buyer can receive rewards such as a personal message from Cristiano Ronaldo, gifts and other prizes, depending on the rarity level of the “token” purchased.
