A good solution or a kid-friendly ad? The Sesame Street narrative, in which the character is vaccinated, is controversial in the United States.

The Sesame Street navels carried the COVID-19 vaccine in their wing, and this narrative has angered some American conservatives who accuse the children’s program of being state propaganda.

“Today I got the covid-19 vaccine! My wing hurts a little, but it will give my body additional protection that will keep me and others healthy, ”you could read on the yellow bird’s Twitter page. Dozens of users of this social network congratulated the mascot on his decision to get vaccinated and help keep others safe. Among those who thanked for the character’s attitude was US President Joe Biden. But there were also those who saw in this division a relationship with perverse goals.

Texas Republican Senator and former presidential candidate Ted Cruz responded to the publication of the Sesame Street character by writing, “Government propaganda directed against your five-year-old son.” The age that Cruz mentions is not innocent. Recently, vaccination in the United States was opened to children between the ages of 5 and 11, and it was in this context that Pupa was vaccinated. Despite the fact that Pupas has been one of the central characters since the beginning of the series, which debuted in 1969, he is only six years old.
