After two seasons, Alex Telles could be close to leaving Manchester United. The 29-year-old Brazilian left-back is on the Red Devils’ transfer list, according to British newspaper The Sun, and what may have contributed to this scenario is an incident during training last season.
According to British media reports, the former Porto player was involved in a heated argument with Hannibal Maybrey, a young midfielder from the Manchester club, days after the Red Devils thrashed Brighton 4-0 on 7 May.
Ralf Rangnick, the manager who took over the team temporarily after the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season, will end training earlier than originally planned due to an altercation between the two players.
Another reason that could lead to the departure of the Brazilian footballer has to do with the imminent arrival of Tyrell Malasia, a young Dutch winger from Feyenoord who Erik ten Hag wants to bolster Manchester United’s defense this season. The 22-year-old has two more years under contract with the Rotterdam club (until June 2024) and is valued at €17m by Transfermarkt.
