College Football Results, Top 25 NCAA Rankings, Schedule, Today’s Games: UNC, Iowa, Early Week 2

Before the advent of COVID-19, this particular Saturday was supposed to be one of the best of the year in college football. Thinking back to the tent non-conference games originally scheduled for September 12, our plans were Ohio-Oregon, Texas-LSU, North Carolina-Auburn, Tennessee-Oklahoma, Pennsylvania State University-Virginia Institute of Technology, and Iowa-Iowa. However, the unique circumstances of this season have taken each of these events off the schedule.

So compared to what it might have been, Saturday might seem disappointing for some American football fans who were expecting bigger matches. But given how things have looked at times over the last couple of months – with teams and leagues dropping out of the season – Saturday isn’t all that bad. Ranked Teams will compete in all three waves of games: No. 1 Clemson, No. 5 Oklahoma, No. 10 Notre Dame, No. 14 Texas, No. 18 North Carolina, No. 21 UCF, and No. 23 Iowa. Name each debut.

A total of 10 ACC teams and seven Big 12 teams plan to open their seasons on Saturday as Mike Norvell coaches his first game in Florida, Notre Dame makes his ACC debut, and Clemson begins his bid to regain the national title. With these games and everything else, there is a story to tell. CBS Sports will be here every step of the way to bring you the latest results, highlights and storylines throughout the day. All times Eastern
