Almost all of Portugal is on a “red alert” due to wildfires. The Algarve is one of the areas of the country affected by the fires and many people have already fled their homes.
Cristiana Jesús and Claudio Alegre, who live in the south of the country, have been using social media to share some flashes of what’s going on.
“Today my city woke up in ashes, the sky is gray, and it’s so sad to realize that Faro burned down tonight! Everything is on fire!began with what Claudio Alegre wrote, quite indignant at the attitude of the man who set it on fire.
Moments later, the businessman recounted the situation, showing the ashes at his door.
“It’s here on my doorstep, and the city is covered in ash! The sky is orange and the fire has already spread! Very windy and very hot, which doesn’t help at all! I really ask God for this to pass quickly, and I need you from this side to send a lot of light to all the families who have already had to leave their homes.he said, showing solidarity with the situation.
Christiane Jesus, in turn, shared a video of an active fire near her house and admitted in the description: “What a disaster!”
