Brazilian singer and writer Chico Buarque will perform in Portugal next year, taking the opportunity to receive the Camões Award which he distinguished himself in 2019.

Chico Buarque comes to Portugal to present “How about samba” with four dates in Porto and Lisbon. The musician takes the stage at the Super Bock Arena on May 26 and 27 and performs at Campo Pequeno on June 1 and 2. New tour the composer will be Monica Salmaso as a guest in both cities.

The musicians who accompany the singer are “faithful stage companions”: Maestro Luis Claudio Ramos (arrangements, guitar and acoustic guitar), Joao Rebusas (piano), Bia Paes Leme (keyboards and vocals), Chico Batera (percussion), Jorge Helder (acoustic and electric bass), Marcelo Bernardes (winds) and Yurim Moreira (drums).

Writer, composer and singer Chico Buarque, now 78, was a laureate of the Camões Prize 2019. The awards ceremony was scheduled for April 25, 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
