CArlos Vaz Márquez used his Instagram account to openly talk about his departure from TSF, where he worked for over three decades. In the long text, the journalist begins by grateful for the opportunities the radio station has provided him throughout his career, as well as for the people he has met through it. However, as he notes, it was “a long, happy relationship with a sad outcome.”

“Almost 32 years have passed. A story that ends badly, but in no way makes me forget what is good about it. Recent events are epiphenomenon considering how much TSF I owe“, – he declares at the beginning.

Later, in the part of the text that he labeled as “indignation”, he describes:

“I never thought that after another three decades of dedication, Global Media Group, the current owner of the TSF brand, would put me in a situation that threatens my professional dignity, which I have been exposed to in recent months. A situation that I can no longer put up with; out of respect for the historical heritage of TSF, in memory of the efforts of those with whom I have helped create an authoritative brand, and, above all, out of respect for my personal and professional dignity.

For several months, I found myself in a situation that I can only describe as a form of professional bullying. TSF itself unilaterally completed the O Livro do Dia program, and the new director felt that after more than ten years without a pay rise, it was time to force me to agree to a pay cut to less than half. Unacceptable proposal that I objected to: return of “O Livro do Dia” or termination of work by agreement of the parties in accordance with the terms on which other journalists left the company last year. The current TSF management rejected both proposals: there is no room for “O Livro do Dia” on the TSF antenna, the director replied; the agreed termination is also no longer discussed. I would even have to stay with the amputated salary company. Either that, or back to the news change

For half a year, I patiently tried to draw the attention of the company’s HR department to the abuses I was the victim of. All in vain.
I was put on a shift team, and in the last few months my professional activities have been limited (in those days when there was something to do, since in most of them I could not contribute anything to the TSF antenna, although I had working hours), a few indirect telephone calls; and a collection of short, recorded telephone statements on current topics, often non-news.
Given this and a number of other circumstances that will arise in the process, which will be accompanied by due legal procedures, I decided that it was time to no longer admit the insults to my honor and professional dignity. Unfortunately, my relationship with Global Media Group, the current owner of the TSF brand, will have to be settled in court.
“But this is chanting, not crying.
