Brazilian police arrested a Portuguese suspected of raping his stepdaughter

On Twitter today, the Brazilian Federal Police announced that an undisclosed Portuguese citizen was born in Lisbon, fled on suspicion of raping his stepdaughter and was arrested by court order.

The detection and arrest of the alien was carried out by the International Police Cooperation Center (Interpol) in Pernambuco.

The Brazilian authorities said in a statement that the man was detained at Gaibu Cabo de Santo Agostinho beach in Pernambuco after being issued an arrest warrant issued by the 2nd Criminal Court of the Cabo de Santo Agostinho District. on the day of May 7.

“The location and detention of the foreigner was carried out by the federal police in order to include his name in the red broadcast, since he has been at large for several months and there is a possibility that he is still residing in Brazil,” the Brazilian federal police said.

After his arrest, the Portuguese citizen was taken to the headquarters of the federal police, where he was subjected to a trial that confirmed his preventive detention.

The detainee is suspected of a crime of aggravated violation of the rights of vulnerable persons, as the stepfather of the victim, with sentences ranging from 5 to 20 years in prison in Brazil.
