The National Association of Football Coaches (ANTF) board released a statement this Monday outlining its position on the hiring of coach Moreno.

“After learning through the media about the recent hiring of Joao Miguel Cunha Teixeira “Moreno” as head coach of the Vitória Sport Clube Fut. SAD, going public [ANTF]and once again express our outrage and rejection of another sad episode that discredits the image of Portuguese football and distorts the sporting truth, ”the aforementioned document says.

“We regret that in a country with the best players and coaches in the world, we continue to see with impunity the constant violations of the Law and the Regulations of the competition of the League of Portugal, ignoring – even devaluing – the efforts of dedicated coaches – the vast majority – those who, by personal and financial efforts, comply with the provisions of the Law, investing seriously, faithfully and without overdoing it right, in your professional career and in your professional training.

We are surprised that a club with a long tradition of training talent is sponsoring such situations that do not comply with the Law, clearly denying its legacy.

We reiterate the urgent need to change the Legal Regime of Sports Federations, making it important to restore equality of criteria and opportunities for all football coaches.

In view of the repeated non-compliance with the Rules of the League competitions, approved by the Clubs themselves, and the Mode of access and exercise of the activities of a sports coach, approved by the Assembly of the Republic, we are awaiting the decision of the Secretary. state for youth and sports, therefore we believe that this constant atmosphere of insulting the Law of the Republic cannot continue in a state of law.

“Portuguese football cannot be a country without the law, as it cannot remain an exception to the rules of the law.”
We are not going to push, but we are complying with the law!” they add.
