BOLA – DGS increases the occupancy of sports facilities (Sport) up to 50%

According to the order of the General Directorate of Health (DGS), the capacity limit for sports facilities has been increased from 33% to 50%. The explanation for this decision is based on new data on the pandemic in recent weeks, including the excellent vaccination rate in Portugal.

However, the DGS maintains reservations and caution in all presences associated with such events.

According to the directive 009/2021 “the public norm on benches with individual seating is 50%, excluding the first row” next to the sports field. In this case, “the occupation of seats should be carried out with a seat between the spectators, while the occupied seats in each row do not coincide.”

The DGS continues to caution against any contact between spectators and other participants in the sporting event, and also recommends that unoccupied seats “have signs prohibiting their occupation” by the public in stadiums and pavilions, in addition to the mandatory use of masks inside these spaces. …

The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has already confirmed that the DGS leadership will be followed “immediately” in the competitions it organizes.
