Marcel Decote also stated that the increase in the number of black candidates, especially black women, is an important indicator to achieve structural change and stimulate political renewal in Brazil. “From the project we are ready We have mobilized action in the 27 states of the country with leaders organized in these territories who are now – with access to the project – more prepared to face the challenge of political and electoral participation in Brazil.”

Another achievement of the institute was the compilation, along with pressure on state bodies, of a protocol for receiving and sending complaints about political violence in Brazil. “Unseen before, single tool which can help to account for and prevent new cases of violence and threats against black women candidates and activists included in election campaigns,” Marcel explains.
