A civil jury on Tuesday sentenced American actor Bill Cosby to pay $500,000 (€474,000) for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl at the Playboy Mansion in 1975.

Los Angeles County jurors ruled in favor of Judy Huth, who is now 64 years old.

It turned out that Bill Cosby intentionally provoked harmful sexual contact in Judy Huth, that the actor believed the victim was under 18 and that his behavior was motivated by an unnatural or abnormal sexual interest in a minor.

Today’s decision arises nearly a year after his Pennsylvania sexual assault conviction was vacated and he was released.

The Judy Huth lawsuit was one of the last remaining lawsuits against Bill Cosby after his insurance company settled many cases against his will.

The actor did not appear in court and personally did not testify., but short video testimony from 2015 was shown in which he denied any contact with Judy Huth. Bill Cosby continues to deny the allegations.

Lawyers for Bill Cosby agreed that the artist met Judy Huth at a movie theater in Southern California in April 1975 and was taken to the Playboy Mansion a few days later.

The majority of the jury apparently agreed, giving Judy Huth the win in a case that dragged on for eight years and overcame many hurdles to get to trial.
