Betty White, iconic Sarilhos com Elas actress, dies two weeks after her 100th birthday – Observador

American actress Betty White died this Friday at the age of 99, just two weeks before her 100th birthday.

The news was confirmed by People magazine Betty White’s agent Jeff Witjas.

“Although Betty was almost 100 years old, I thought she would live forever,” the agent said in a note sent to the magazine.

Born in 1922, Betty White has starred in a large number of television hits over her eighty-year career that has defined the recent history of American comedy.

Among the roles that immortalized her on the small screen, Rose Nylund’s character comedy Golden Girls (Sarilhos com Elas in Portuguese), originally released by NBC between the 1980s and 1990s.

The actress died just days after being interviewed by People magazine about her approach to her 100th birthday.

“I am so lucky to be in such good health and feel so good at this age,” Betty White said at the time.
