In the opening match of the group stage of the Champions League, Benfica on Tuesday in the match against Dynamo Kiev drew without a goal.

In the first meeting of Group E, Benfica did not go beyond a goalless draw at Olimpiyskiy against Dynamo Kiev. The Ukrainians adopted a more conservative strategy, being competent in the defensive organization, not allowing incarnations to create many clear scoring situations.

The Eagles had possession of the ball for most of the game, acted with a raised line and attacked mainly from the left flank. In the first half, the search for depth was in great demand by Rafa and Yaremchuk, and the Ukrainian striker volunteered to serve as a direct reference point.

In the second half, control of the ball remained, and Jorge Jesus promoted Darwin, Lazaro and Radonic’s debut. The most unbalanced was the Serbian striker, who tried to ruin the game through dribbling. Taarabt and Pizzi were still in the game, but Benfica failed to create many shooting situations on goal.

During the compensation period, Dynamo managed to get close to the red zone and even scored a goal, but the goal was counted offside after checking the video referee.

This draw gives Benfica a point in the group and Bayern lead with three points after beating Barcelona 3-0 at Camp Nou.
