After Sporting accused Benfica of delay in the provision of tickets for the Friday derby Given the 13th round of the League, the red club ensured that they did it “on time”.

“Sport Lisboa e Benfica clarifies that it has provided Sporting Clube de Portugal with tickets in advance, which, according to the rules, must be delivered to the opposite club,” said a statement released by Benfica on Tuesday evening.

We remind that Sporting announced the receipt of the requested tickets only this Monday, considering that they should have been delivered in accordance with the competition regulations 12 days before the date of the game.

“The delay referred to by Sporting Clube de Portugal was due solely to technical procedures related to the ticketing system and platform it uses with the support of Leo’s supporters,” indicate the incarnations, which also refer to invitations to which the lions are entitled to be available when “recipients of the same are defined”.

It should be noted that Sporting considered that one of Benfica’s requirements – to identify every fan with a ticket – was not only delayed, but also in breach of data protection law. Club da Luz notes that this condition applies to visiting fans and the team itself. “These access rights were granted under the same legal conditions as all the opponents who came to play at Luz this season, as well as the Benfica fans. Namely, the requirement to identify who purchases the same ticket so that, in strict accordance with safety rules to protect the show and the audience present, each seat in the Stadium corresponds to the name and number of the citizen, ”he explains.
